Hi,

I have burned the first cd of this SVCD release by 'thchia'.
Nfo-file tells me this about the format:

AVG ViDEO BiTRATE : 2300K, 4-PASS VBR
AUDiO BiTRATE : 224k

No other information.

If I look on the burned cd, I see the normal directory structure of a SVCD.
I check if I could at least read the cd-r and it worked.

But when I try to play this disc with the latest power dvd 4.0 deluxe,
I get an error that the format in drive x is not supported, that's all.

Windows mediaplayer can display the sample mpg, but not the mpg on the disc.

How is this possible? It's a release from last year, so it's not somekind of new unknown format I guess?

Although the more I read about SVCD format, the more problems I see.

Is there a program that will tell me the format of the mpg-file on the cd?
If I know the format, maybe I can convert to a compatible format.
I can't test this cd on my standalone dvd-player because I don't have one at the moment.

I mean, if even a new software-player can't play it, will it not be impossible to play it on a standalone dvd-player?

Can anybody help?

Thanks, Erwin.
