I just started using a Creative Labs Digital VCR to start archiving Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" show. I am opening the MPG-2 that I export w/ the Creative software in DVD2AVI and saving it as a project. Then I use TMPGenc to encode the file to standard VCD format. Everything is turning out great with the exception of the audio. After encoding the audio takes on that higher pitched "tinny" sound, much like streaming audio over the net. The mpa file that DVD2AVI creates doesn't sound like that at all. Any ideas?

That is most likely a result of TMPGEnc's sample rate converter. The Creative DVCR captures audio at 32 KHz and it needs to be converted to 44.1 KHz for standard (S)VCD format.
Download SSRC from doom9.net in the audio tools section. In TMPGEnc go to Options -> Environmental Settings -> External Tool, and make SSRC.exe your sampling frequency converter. This fixed the problem for me. -
Thanks alot. Not only did this fix the sound problem, but it cut my encoding time in half!
