I'm trying to rip a DVD with SmartRipper but it's 7 GB, DVD-Rs only hold 4.7 GB. Am I ripping wrong or can I buy 7 GB DVDs? Is it dual layer, or are dual layers those double sided DVDs?

the technology does not yet exist to burn dual layered dvd's yet. as i understand it, its actually a manufacturing process. to get 7gb on a dvd-r is currently not possible. you need to rip out uneeded extras such as extra language streams and subtitles or extra vobs to fit it to 4.5gb. u can also re-encode the movie at a lower bitrate
