Although the documentation that came with my Toshiba SD-3750 standalone states that it supports CD-RW's, it will not load a VCD burned onto a CD-RW ("disc error: check disc"). The player plays VCD's on CD-R's with no problem.
Is this a media issue (I've tried both Imation and Memorex)? Or something else? Anyone else seen this? Toshiba support has not answered my queries.
Thanks.

CDRW's work just fine in my player. Just finished watching some simpsons episodes burnt on a CDRW. I used a Verbatim CDRW

I'm beginning to believe that this is indeed a media issue. I persisted with an Imation CD-RW test disk and, after a couple of tries, it finally played. Then, the next time, the error message again. I haven't tried Verbatim brand yet, so I'll look into that.
BTW, I read some of the reviews on this site for the SD-3750, and the problem reading CD-RW's seems to be a common occurrence. Seems as if it is just very picky about which brand it likes.
Thanks a lot.
