I've been using Dr. DivX in a virtual machine (it's the only ripper I've found that works in one without taking days) and have been very happy with the results. However, when I attempt to adjust the bitrate to over 6000kbps I am met with an error telling me the limit is 6000. I've checked online and the max bitrate for DivX appears to be much, much higher; is there a way to circumvent the limit?

  2. Wild guess: the profile you selected only allows 6000kBit/s, have you another one?
    see: https://www.divx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/DivX-Cert_Profiles_Tech-Specs.pdf
Other than that: use a different tool-

The way to change the bitrate is by using the "custom" profile. Also, Dr. DivX and the DivX version used predate the specifications listed. The profiles available are 1080HD mode, High Definition, Home Theatre, Mobile and qMobile.

Sorry I was unclear. You can change the bitrate via changing to the cusotm profile, but you are still sadly restricted to 6000 kbps.

What I was saying is that the only way to change the bitrate (although you are still limited) manually is via the custom profile and advanced tab, not a predefined profile.

  6. Argh, then it sounds like it's a hardcoded restriction and your only option is probably to switch to another tool.

Thanks, I'll look into another one.
