Dear friends,
I would like to have an answer to this question.
When you check the "cache setting" box under Environmental setting - cpu, do you see any improvement in encoding speed using 2-pass VBR?
I have the suspect that when I do this, Tmpgenc doesn't make the second pass and just encodes using the result of the first pass.
Indeed, I have a half-time reduction in encoding times, so I wondered whether this could be due to avoiding second pass.
Please, respond, because whenever this cache setting box is cheched, and I set a 6-gig-cache, I have encoding times cut by half.

It is 40-50% encoding time decrease in my case.
Where do you specify cash size? -
If you are able to enable disk cache then you will find that you have a box which will allow you to indicate how many mb of cache you require.
Pls refer to html manual of Tmpgenc plus for further explanation.
I have speed improvements of 40-50% too.
cheers
