  1. I did remux BD a while ago before HDR/DoVi existed using MKVToolNix, I tried with a BD which has both HDR and DoVi, when reading MediaInfo after, it does not say Dovi.
    BDInfo
    Code:
    Video: MPEG-H HEVC Video / 62950 kbps / 2160p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / Main 10 @ Level 5.1 @ High / 10 bits / HDR10 / BT.2020
    * Video: MPEG-H HEVC Video / 68 kbps / 1080p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / Main 10 @ Level 5.1 @ High / 10 bits / Dolby Vision / BT.2020
If I leave all the tracks checked, which shows 2 video tracks in MKVToolNix, resulted file in MediaInfo also has 2 video tracks and no trace of DoVi.

But what I want is just a video track with both HDR and DoVi
    Code:
    Video
    ID : 1
    Format : HEVC
Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding
    Format profile : Main 10@L5.1@High
    HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 7.6, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, no metadata compression, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible
Is here any guide that shows how to do it, using MKVToolNix or other software?

  2. Found the solution, demux using tsMuxer then use dovi_tool to extract and inject rpu.

FYI videostream #2 is the Dolby Vision enhancement layer which - in this case - only carries RPU.

tsMuxer isn't the best of demuxers. Better use DGDemux for (UHD)BD

  4. I tried DGDemux and something is wrong, after I mux back using MKVMerge, the playback is 3h, image/sound are too fast and out of sync.
    Code:
    dgdemux -i /media/user/TITLE/BDMV/PLAYLIST/00002.mpls -o .
To be sure it's not a MKVMerge problem I tried to demux using tsMuxer and it worked fine. Seems to be from the audio, if I use the audio from tsMuxer with the hevc from DGDemux it works, any idea why?

I also have another question, which is the best to use, mergedv81 flag or mergedv flag?

Two things about muxing Dolby Vision P7 to mkv. The baselayer and enhancement layer have to be interleaved into one track. Dovi_tool can do this. And with any DoVi profile, always force-set the "Default duration/FPS" (MTX GUI) to the proper value.
I never use the DoVi options of DGDemux; want to do things manually with dovi_tool.

  6. Have tried 24000/1001 on the video track "Default duration/FPS", same stuff happens, the duration is double, 3h28m instead of 1h44m.
The audio tracks extracted by DGDemux and tsMuxer have a difference of ~3MB and the profile/duration are different.

So DGDemux sets a duration and a different profile than tsMuxer.

Very peculiar. I never had a single problem with DGDemuxed streams, both audio and video.
Maybe its source is flawed. I take it you first ripped the movie disc to full backup with MakeMKV?

  8. The thing is that there isn't just one disc but all of them, the sources are fine I'm thinking since it works fine using the audio demuxed using tsMuxer. Somehow the duration and the different profile DGDemux adds to the audio breaks MKVToolNix.
I'm on Linux, most people do this on Windows probably, but I don't see this as being a problem.
