  1. I would say about 5. Years ago I got my DVDs of old T.V. Shows like The Land Of The Lost and Buck Rogers and so on and used MakeMKV to Copy them to my Hard Drive.

    I watched them off and on with VLC Media Player.

    Yes all of the .MKV Files have the VLC Media Player Icon .

    I just went to Click on some of them and they Start to open then they Close.

    I get no Error or anything does anybody know what is going on?

    Play them in a different media player to check. Install MPC-HC (from this site) if you don't have it and then try to play them. Maybe you need to update VLC. Also using MediaInfo check the file to see if it recognises it.

    That's only because you have set VLC as the system default player - means nothing. If you changed the default player to MPC for example they would all have it's icon. and so on....
