    Yet another music video related post... I have this VOB file of a music video that seems to have been resized while interlaced (i do not have the original copy) and it gives weird combing artifacts after deinterlace (more noticeable at the beginning with the wipe effect or however it's called). I wanted to know if any genious mind here could come up with an idea to fix this...

    Sorry, but pretty certainly no chance here. The vertical scaling calculated weighted averages between lines which you cannot calculate back.

    Splitting the clip into sections and then down- and upscale the broken ones and later combine the parts. (https://pastebin.com/yqCUQBDG)
    But LigH is right, this would just blur stuff and not really repair anything.
