im experiencing issues capturing mini tapes via firewire to prem 6.5 on xp (video drops out at a certain point for rest of video)
and i'm looking to test an alternative capture sw to see if that works

any suggestions what sw still works on xp that is reliable and i could try as an alternative to see if it fixes the issue?
    thanks in advance

Cheers Devdev, Scenalyzer has an setting to choose 4:3, 16:9 or Automatic; WinDV doesn't. I'm not sure. I've just had a try but my system isn't playing nicely with Firewire at the moment.

Dunno! I'm not in NTSC land. But one of the Capture options is to set 4:3, 16:9 or Automatic. Most DV is 4:3, so I'd be surprised if you can only capture NTSC in 16:9.
