  1. Hello. In the past while I was watching some shows I saw that some external subtitles can actually place the subtitles anywhere in the video and I even think I saw subtitles with a box placed on on a cell phone screen with texts on the box. I want to learn how this is done so I use it to censor mature elements in some TV shows. Can someone direct me to a guide or a tool on which I can accomplish this?

    Thanks for your time.

P.S. I do not want to censor those using video editing tools because that would take ages of processing. If there is a filter that can censor stuff like that without having to edit the videos that would also be great.

  2. I don't really use subtitles that often, but placing subtitles allover the place while translating stuff is often done in Anime fansubs by using ass/ssa subtitles.
-> you might look at the tools anime fansubbers use. (Probably tools like Aegisub or SubStationAlpha. There should be tutorials for both on youtube.)

Except unless there is an underlying logic or context to it, moving them around is as annoying AF.

  6. What would be the point of a "censor" if you can toggle it off ?

    It can be burned in.

If hardcoding subs were the goal, an editor would be much faster and easier to censor
