I'm having problems with the audio on this one movie that I have. It's in SVCD format, but I am currently trying to convert it so that I can put it on a DVD-R disc. The audio is fine when playing the original, but when I play my version the audio is out of sync. I am not a newbie and I have been encoding for awhile, but for some stupid reason this movie just doesn't wanna go. Please help me. I'm using TMPGEnc v2.53.35.130 and the machine I have is Intel P4 1.4GHz, 512 MB ram, 60GB HD, and GeForce3 64MB GFX Card.

  2. Not sure but could this be a framerate/video format problem. Are you converting a Pal SVCD to a NTSC DVD format (or vice versa). This would cause gradual loss of sync if not done properly.

The movie I am trying to convert is from the internet so I'm not sure what version it is, but it could be pal. How can I check this out? Also how can I fix it?

  4. Open the file in virtualdub, the click file->file properties and it will tell you what you need to know. Then, when encoding to Mpeg, ensure you select a template with matching framerate.
