Hi I'm trying to correct a problem I'm having with an xvid file, the audio is ahead of the video by about a second,

the audio is in AC3 format, and try as I might - I just cant seem to get it corrected.....

I have tried virtualdub 1.7.5 and know how you're supposed to correct it, but it wont work, as everytime I set the audio skew to +1000 it resets itself to the default value (0)
I have also heard that solveig avi trimmer can correct this kind of problem, but with there being a lack of instructions for that program I dont know what to do with it

I wont lie to you all, this is the first time to attempt something like this for me, and I'm not a stupid bloke, but I just cant figure it out...

also if i try to preview my modifications on virtualdub I get the standard message telling me it doesnt have the ac3 codec, I downloaded the AC3 ACM mod for it, but apparently you have to right click on the file and select install to make it work - unfortunately I dont get that option in my right click menu as I'm using Windows Vista (SP1 beta)

Basically all I'm after is this.......

Can someone tell me a piece of software that I can correct this sync problem with that WILL work with Vista

Also ideally, the software should be extremely easy to use - ideal scenario for me would be as follows: A slider bar at the bottom where I can add a second of silence to start of audio track, or (and I think this is my preferred option) select the first second of video track and click on cut - remove the first second of video, therefore bringing audio/video back into sync as start of video is only mgm's roaring lion - not bothered about losing that lol

Somebody please help - I've been on this for days and cant seem to find a way forward!!!!!

Try dropping the + before the 1000. You only need to stipulate for -values. I THINK.

    Peace
