I've downloaded this movie to find out there's
no audio. Now, what could've possibly caused
this problem? The movie's in two AVI files, and
I've checked each part for sound, and nothing.

Where do I start to troubleshoot this problem?
If there's any further info you need, I'll keep
an eye out in the forum.

    TIA

  2. Usually that is a codec problem, I suggest you try installing Kristal Studio Codec Pack, it always worked great for me.

For the life of me I can't seem to find the Kristal Studio
Codec Pack. So I substituted the Nemo Codec Pak, and
you were right. I now have sound, but the video is slow
and choppy. I even installed v3.11 along with v4.12, but
the problem returned, and video is back to excellent.

Will you give me a link to the Kristal Studio Codec Pack?
You've diagnosed the problem, now maybe you can give
    me the medicine.

Now WMP won't play anything, it just crashes.

I'm using the "recommended" codec from the site.
Maybe I should try the 'Alpha"? I'm running WinXP.
I'll continue to keep you abreast of the goings on.

    Does it make a difference?

    I've having a HELL of a time finding a codec that'll play
this particular movie. Either I have good audio with no
    video, or vice versa.

The actual plan has never been to play the movie on
the computer anyway. I just like to verify I've got all
the parts and such. The intended player has always
    been my standalone DVD/VCD/SVCD player.

So I guess my question is, does it make a difference
that I don't have audio on the computer. Will I have
    audio on the VCD?

    TIA

  8. The problem is that you have too many codecs installed, I suggest you uninstall them all, and then JUST install the Kristal Studio, no Alpha no nothing, JUST the Kristal Studio codec pack!

I never upgrade anything unless specifically required.
In all the cases, I uninstalled and installed the new one.

I've since gone back to DivX v5. Now its back the way
    it was.
