I have captured a 110minutes VHS movie, at 352x480, using VirtualDub segmented files option, using PICVideo MJPEG compressor. I got with 9,3GB file splitted into 6 files... I MUST to frameserve to TMPGEnc to create a CVCD file small enough to fit ONE CD (quality will suffer a little)... MUST BE ONE CD!
Well, everybody here says to smart deinterlace the movie, then precise resize bicubic A=1.00... Where is the SMART DEINTERLACE option? I have many deinterlace options at DEINTERLACE filter, but cant find SMART one!
Also, CVCD is set to 1150MAX and 350MIN... CQ=100. This setting TMPGEnc reports a 1030 MB file... I need help to calculate the correct CQ option (80,90, 70, 60, etc) the finish with 790 MB...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Fredİ

Try CQ 70 or 75. With CQ, you have to guestimate the size depending on the brightness and the movement of the video.

Ok... thats what I was afraid to do... encode process with the VHS deinterlace and resize filter will consume 17hours... it will be a try an error procedure...
But, any idea about SMART DEINTERLACE?

Here you will find the smart deinterlace filter for VD made by Donald Graft. Copy the filter (*.vdf) to the ..\VD\plugins\ directory.
