  1. I downloaded a movie to my PC, burned it with my Sony DRU dvd+rw burner, but when I put the disk into my Sony DVP-NP315 dvd player it says"cannot play this disk" what have I done wrong? My dvd player is compatible with dvd+rw, and I think I converted from AVI2MPEG2 correctly:o All help is appreciated.

  4. Hello,

Even if you think your authoring process was good, i d'ont think it was.
PC DVD players can play almost everything even if MPEG2 standard is not respected.

For a PAL movie, you must have a GOP structure like this :
    I picture = 1
    P pictures= 4
    B pictures= 2
and 1 interval picture for chapter informations.

    For NTSC :
    I picture = 1
    P pictures= 5
    B pictures= 2
and 1 interval picture for chapter informations.

Audio format must be correct too.

I suggest you use TmpgEnc which allow you to control all these parameters and produce very good results.

  5. I'm going to re-do the whole conversion-author-and burn thing again, because it doesn't look like I'm doing it right. Thanks for the help.
