  1. Ok I don't know anything about blue ray except that it has more lines of resolution than dvd. My question is a newbie question for sure. If you put a blu ray disk in a regular dvd player will it just go backwards compatible to 480 lines of resolution or will it not play at all? I am familiar with backing up dvds but not blue ray disks.

    I am thinking blu ray is a completely different animal but I really don't know the technical aspects.

    Update: Infinity Storage recently introduced a hybrid disc in Japan, but don't hold your breath waiting for it.
