MPEG to MP4 conversion no sound.

I got a family video on a DVD RW disc. The media info got me this info:

As you see NO AUDIO TRACKS. I convert it to MP4 using handbrake and the video is Ok but no audio.
Is there any possibility of getting audio from it? Thank you.

Put the DVD into the reader.
Open Handbrake and select the DVD. Confirm the presence of the audio, select the title if more than one

Have you actually played the DVD? Does it play with sound?

Yes I just have video no sound.

If the DVD has no sound on playback, then maybe there isn't a sound track? If so you can't get sound out of nowhere. Try dumping it with MakeMKV.

Greetings MKV didn't recognize the .mp4 file in my Disc.

The mediainfo report clearly, as you already pointed out, that there is no audio - the 2% is just the ifo's etc. on the disk.


If the original had sound then the transfer/copy is faulty.
