  1. Hi everyone.

Here's my setup (for a spanish PAL tape) :

    JVC S9850 > Datavideo TBC 1000 > ATI 600 USB > Windows 7 / Virtualdub

Settings : VCR = all disable (EDIT mode / PAL mode)
    TBC = no settings
    ATI = settings into virtualdub

    1) preview
    2) Capture filter : PAL_B
    3) Set custom video format : 720x576 / YUY2
    4) Audio : Enable audio capture / Disable audio playback
    5) Audio source: Audio Line

Virtualdub = Timing : Everything disable / x Do not resynch.. / x Automatically disable resynch when integrated..
    Disk I/O : Chunk size 512K - Buffer 2 - x Disable Windows write buffering

    ----------

Audio is out of synch. Can't explain why.

Without the Datavideo TBC, same issue.
And colors "blinks". Good color/less colors

  5. In virtualdub, try changing resync mode to
    Code:
sync audio to video by resampling the audio to a faster or slower rate
. Never had any luck with using
    Code:
    do not resync
    option.

Well, that was a stupid detail : the usb port was defective.
The usb port on the computer box. By the way, when I put the ATI inside, the computer do a freeze !

I need to use the usb port from the card reader (for SD cards and all).

Anyway, maybe I'm wrong, but I feel AmarecTV much "lighter" than Virtualdub.

No difference for quality or synch

  9. I've found that I get choppy video on the 600 unless I disable both the video overlay and also the audio playback.

I set video to "no display" and audio playback OFF in VirtualDub. Just something else to check.

  10. New problem with AmarecTV : I'm trying to capture a NTSC tape.
I can't get the preview. Black screen. I can't record.

    I set NTSC_M. I apply. Nothing. I go back to the settings : SECAM_L.
    Why ?

What is the output of your VCR? PAL60?
Not expert about NTSC capture in PAL regions, but may be Hauppauge USB Live can capture NTSC.
Or try all the output combinations of the VCR versus input options of Hauppauge USB Live.
I remember I had trouble to capture from Secam with JVC HR-S9500MS (the video was too yellow!)

BTW, did AmarecTV solved the synch problems you had with VirtualDub?

  12. S-video output. This is an american VCR I use for NTSC tapes.

About synch problems, yes it was perfect when I captured my PAL tape.
Now I'd like to go back to NTSC settings..

Will do a new install of the drivers. See if that helps.
