Correcting rotated video

Hi, noob here, looking for help.

I just received an mp4 video (made with a mobile phone, 1 minute 12 seconds length) of my husband's great-aunt who passed away yesterday.
My in-laws would love to show the video at her memorial (coming Saturday) but unfortunately the person who recorded it started out holding the phone in a horizontal position, rotated it to vertical, and rotated it back to horizontal.
They asked me to correct it as I'm the family-nerd.
Is there a way to correct this so people won't have to tilt their heads one way and the other when viewing it?

I already thought of cutting up the video in three parts, and rotating them so all parts are in the same direction (I still have to figure out how to do that).
I know this will cause black bands on either top/bottom or left/right but anything is better than nothing.
Do you know a better way?

You could try using Avidemux available from this site to cut the sections you require then use a free program called Video-Flip-and-Rotate https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-Flip-and-Rotate.htm to alter the vertical to horizontal & then use Avidemux to join the parts together.Should you encounter a problem you could try using Handbrake available from this site to re-encode the merged parts.
