Hey, no problem. Get yourself a screwdriver and open up your DVD player. Inside you will find a big switch which will say MACROVISION and will have ON and OFF positions. These babies ship in the default position, which is ON. All you have to do is throw the switch to OFF, and prestro, you are now MACROVISION FREE!

  3. Pay no attention to SLK001's remarks. Check under the DVD Hacks section of this website (located on the bar on the left of the screen) for your DVD player make and model. If there is no information there, you can search on the internet for your DVD model and see if anyone else has one.

Correct quote... of course, that was a large dose of sarcasm. Macrovision is copy-protection required to be hard-coded into a DVD when it is manufactured, per the licensing agreement between the licensee and the licensor. Sometimes, people have successfully hacked the firmware to turn it off.

  6. check out somewher like RS which sell boxes which sit inline in your video connection, and are sold for colour correction puposes. The side effect of these boxes (though not often advertised) is that they clean the signal so well, it removes the macrovision signal. They sell anywhere between £40-£200 depending on their features.
Try going to http://www.maplin.co.uk/ and do a product search for QN09K, this is the kinda thing im on about.
