Help AVI's now play worse after disk cleanup

I was wondering if any body has a clue as to what might fix this problem. My Avi''s p layed fine before i tried to clean up my hard drive now they play purple and audio is off (i'm using WMediaPlayer) Win2K . Can anyone tell me if i need another codec ..or maybe an update? I f so which one i already tried AngelPotion ... It has nothing to do with TMPG because i changer the priority inEnvironMentSettings--> DirShow ...
