I'm looking for an easy-to-use DV splitter that lets me load a large DV file (e.g. testfile.mov), identify frames where I want to do a split via GUI and be able to split it into a series of files (e.g. testfile-clip01.mov, testfile-clip02.mov etc...). I've found a few options but had a lot of trouble getting them to run on macOS Catalina on a modern Mac. Any suggestions? Prefer something easy to use (vs. setting up avisynth etc.) since I would like to set something up that my parents can use.

For DV, and if Mac is a must, best to get a legacy machine.
First, Catalina only supports 64bit apps, which cuts out just about all of the DV-era tools. And Mac never was great with DV other than straight capture & simple edit (except for the pro apps).
