    Hi
When I launch this program (Ulead VideoStudio 6) I get the message that there is an error and the program will shut down, and it does. Now when I launch it again and again everything works fine. It only happens the first time I activate it. Before it was working OK. I can not undersdant why this happens now. Any help where to look would be appreciated.
    My PC - PIII 1GHz, 512 RAM, 40GB, Windows 98SE.

  2. Have you tried starting the uninstall from control panel (then selecting "repair") yet?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

Thanks Mirros_Image but yes I have done that already but still the problem exists. I get the following message:

"This Program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"

The funny thing is that it does this the first time I open the program, after that when I launch it it works everytime.

  4. So, it just does it once after a PC reboot, then it works every time after that, till the next reboot?

If you've already tried the "repair", you've probably also tried the uninstall and reinstall route. This is certainly a head-scratcher. If I was turning this little puzzle box over and over in my hands I might try:

    1. Uninstalling, then (if I had no other Ulead apps installed, i.e Cool3D etc)searching for and deleting all the ulead folders and any file named ulead.*, rebooting and reinstalling and seeing if it still blew a gasket when you ran it first try after a reboot.

    2. Scratching my head till I came up with another idea.

    Hi Mirror_Image

"1. Uninstalling, then (if I had no other Ulead apps installed, i.e Cool3D etc)searching for and deleting all the ulead folders and any file named ulead.*, rebooting and reinstalling and seeing if it still blew a gasket when you ran it first try after a reboot."

Well I did all these, I had another 2 Ulead apps (MovieFactory and DVD PictureShow) and I unistalled ALL of these Ulead products including VideoStudio. Reboot and deleted all ulead folders, also I did a Regclean and Easyclean. Installed VideoStudio again and still the same problem!

"2. Scratching my head till I came up with another idea."

So I guess I just have to leave with it and keep Scratching my head also in case it comes with somthing.

Thanks a lot though for your help and interest.

    Regards
