  1. Hi all,

I own a Philips 612S, and it plays VCD with no problem, on CD-R and CD-RW. But I have several problems with SVCD and tweaked VCDs:
    - I cannot forward/rewind on some SCVD.
    - When I use a template like Kwag's one, or a modified VCD, it plays nice for one minute or two minutes, but then it starts pausing every few seconds.

I encode films from DIVX with TMPGEnc Plus 2.53.35.130 and burn them with Nero 5.5 and VCDEasy, and I've tried CD-R and CD-RW, 74 and 80min.

    Any suggestion? Thank you!

  3. Yes, It can play VCD and SVCD, burned on CDR and CDRW, but on some SVCD I cannot rewind nor forward. (Just a typo, I wrote SCVD, but was SVCD... :)

    Thank you anyway!

  4. Search the forum using the keyword 'Philips' and you'll find several threads regarding the FF/RW problem on SVCD's. It's a firmware problem. Depending on the exact model of your player (DVD612/0??) it might be possible to do a firmware update.

Again, search this forum for links.
