Extracting part of video from broken zip file

Can part of a video be saved from a broken zip file?

I got a very large mpg2 file that was zipped in several files.
It won't extract properly (and it is totally impossible to get it again).
With 7zip I can modify it to one file, but still inextractible.

But, I only need a small part of the video. Could there be a way to extract the mpg file, if necessary simply with errors? Because there's a good chance the bit I need is still usable.

If you can extract something from the zip files, that would be the first step.
Try doing an Internet search for ' extract broken zip files ' and you can try a few programs.

Many are freeware or trial versions. Do this on a copy of the zip file if possible so as to not damage the original file any further.
I would leave them as separate files and not combine them. That may work better. But you can try the combining also.

If you are able to extract something, even if not playable, maybe a program like ISOBuster or similar can recover some of the files.
You can also try VLC as it can sometimes play corrupted video files.

Just to mention, 'zipping' video files doesn't give much compression or space saving as they are already normally compressed quite a bit.
But I have used zipping to keep a bunch of video files in a single container and it works well for that for emailing or similar.

Probably other methods also that other members may suggest.

Breaking it up helped to store it where the full file wouldn't have fit.
The recovery software, in general, extracts the files that are undamaged. Since there is only 1 file, none of them has worked so far, although I may try a few more. Ideally I would want something that gives me the mpg file, even if that is partially broken.
Isobuster shows something, but it's unclear if its results make any sense, and exporting it isn't a free function.

Hi,
first try with duckduckgo search engine give me this result.

I believe it is at least good to try. And not sure if what archive contains (mpeg2 seems to me be better than for example db file) depend too much.
Honestly never need those tools, so can't help more.


Edit - as suggested on the website, always check page and those programs at least with virustotal.com

The idea was good, I shouldn't be ungrateful; it's just that I already tried a couple of things before posting.

Isobuster is half freeware, half paid. It detects 3 very large jpg files, one of over 100 MB and two of 1.5 GB. It's weird! (But I wasn't feeling like buying when the result may still be useless.)
