    I'm about to buy a writer (with my mind set on making vcd to play on a Sony S500)

    I was thinking about Plextor 40x12x40x or maybe Asus CDRW 40x 12 x 48x (I know you all love the Plextor thing)

    ... and then I dreamed of burning DVD (to hdd) to VCD with a combo drive.... but the one I am kind of interessed on (PHILIPS COMBO DRIVE RWDV2010K - I actualy held it in my hand soo it does exist...) it seems like not even Philips knows much about it...

    ...any sugestions about this or other combos??

    Goto Plextor.com, power of their burners and a dvd-rom drive.
    Look on their main site cause the drive is slowly headed for stores but not there quite yet.
