i have downloaded the dvd rips of lord of the rings and have followed the divx to avi guide on this site. i have managed to produce to mpg files which both work perfectly.
the problem is, is that cd1 is 935MB and cd2 is 809MB. i have managed to fit cd2 onto a CDR but do not know what to do with CD1. i understand that vcd base the space available on the duration rather than the file size. cd2 duration is 1:19:12 and cd1 is 1:31:32.
can anybody help me please?

the best solutions is to just re-encode the file using tmpg SVCD. you can use one of the standard templates and jsut modify the frame rate and resolution to match the file. use a program like bit rate viewer or somthing and copy down the resolutions and other important info and change the SVCD template to match.. you will have to unlock it to do that load the template you need then goto load then extra and load teh unlock template and that will allow you to change the settings.
---UPDATE---
Sorry i was assuming that LOTR was in SVCD format since it was dvd rip and my copy is svcd.. if NOT then use somthing like KWAG's template VCD and re-encode using that.. the process is basicly the same.. if you do nto know how to tell teh difference .. vcd is mpeg-1 and svcd is mpeg-2
