I tried to cut out small parts of Dude where's my car and i tried to split the movie in 2 parts as told in the HOW TO on this website.
The problem is that when i do both the sound is totally out of sync. I tried with interleaving and without interleaving but none of them seem to work.
The purpose of cutting out scenes is so i can get the movies to fit on a 700 mb cdr.

Enocdoe the whole avi into one mpeg with TmpGenc (or whatever your favourite encoder is) the cut the resulting mpeg into two (or more) parts, using TmpGenc or some other mpeg cutter (tools - left of page)
