i opened virtual dub, put direct stream copy options under video and audio menu, and opened a dv-avi file. then i went to file and selected append avi segment and picked another dv-avi file. however, it did not only add that file to my original file, it also added the rest of the videos in my video folder. why did it do that? i just need to glue 2 files together, but it adds all the other ones too.
im a total noob and dont understand all these nerd programs lol... confusing for me. i just want to cut clips from my dv-avi files, and paste various ones together again to make a movie.

If you only want to append one file then untick "Autodetect additional segments by filename" If it is ticked then it will append sequential files. 001.avi, 002.avi, 003.avi and so on.
