I'm using a Canopus ADVC 55 and capturing NTSC tapes played back with a Sony RDRVX535 (VHS/DVD combo unit). I honestly don't see a difference in video quality when I flip the switch, at least on the particular tape I was test capturing. Is this a setting I should adjust for each tape to optimize video/light quality?

North American NTSC should be at 7.5 IRE setup. Only use 0 IRE if you are converting a Japanese recording.
