  1. I just downloaded FAST AND FURIOUS and this has a really nice picture and sound, but it has some stupid subtitles all over it. Is there anyway to removie these subtitles once and for all? It is an mpg BTW. thx.

By cropping the movie. TMPGEnc can do this for you. (In advanced settings "clip frame" )

  3. I opened that program loaded my movie and clicked the "clip frame" box. I then encoded about 2 % of the movie to check if it had worked, but the subtitling is still there. WHAT DO I DO TO REMOVE IT? thx

Just by checking the clip frames you won't achieve anything. You have to say which part or parts should be clipped. To do this double click the "clip frames" and choose.

  5. Ok, I managed to crop off the bottom, turning into a wide screen view! I have no more subtitling. I was just wondering before I make the entire conversion:

    1) is there anyway to resume an encoding?
    2) Is there anyway to increase the sharpness of the picture and perhaps increase the resolution to make the movie look better in TMPGEnc?

I think you should read the TMPGEnc explained guide from Shochan which will give you an overview, what the different buttons and nobs in TMPGEnc actually do - this will help you considerably.
