Use an editing sponge. And be careful not to wipe off the good parts.

  8. If you have a clean plate of the scene(even a single image will do), you can get rid of the foreground objects.
Open up your editing application (I use adobe afterFX) and then motion track your footage.Next, take the part from the clean plate that you want to be in place of the unwanted object and place it on top of it.Then, parent this layer to the tracking data and with a little color correction(if necessary), you are done!

Not sure if your gun is pointing towards me, but if it is, then let me tell you that it is quite easy to do indeed
All it requires is 5-10 mins and some basic AfterFX knowledge..

  11. It depends on the specifics of the scene. Provide more details ,a better description or video sample. AE (alone) won't work well for certain shots

For example, is there camera movement, lens distortions, parallax ? etc...

If you don't have a clean plate, is there enough data to generate one from adjacent frames in the scene ? How is it arranged

Motion tracking is best used to supply XYZ positioning data to other objects or FX for matchmoving, not so great for masking, unless way in the background.

When offering advice, I try to limit it to things that have a high chance of success. Removing cables, lights, tripods, and people walking through the set using motion tracking does not meet that standard.

Certainly, it's not a "5-10 minutes" project either.
