I had an AVI where that sound wasn't synched so I ripped the sound with virtualdub. Then proceeded to re-attach the video with the new audio. The fps was 29.970 so I used the VideoCD (NTSC).mcf on the load. I get this error about half way through the join "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order" What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Your avi is corrupted. I have had this problem and you can try vdub or avifixer to help you but your best bet is to try to get a new file. i have fixed a few with those programs so atleast try them also. Sorry

I had that exact problem. . I restarted my computer, and tried again, but changed a few settings. . such as a higher priority, changing Constant Bitrate to Constant Quality. . .and thats about it. . After that, i had no problem.

1, Load AVI into Vdub 1.49
2, Select file > Scan Video stream for errors.
3, Set Video and audio to streaming
4, save as, save out movie2.avi
Now use with TMPGEnc -
This will work trust me:

its easy,
It means that the next frame, or the next few frames are corrupted.
The mpg you have hade so far is okay.
So now simply make a new mpg starting from the next frame using the "source range" option. (Remember to give it a new name).
If the error still appears start again a few frames later.
U now have 2 mpgs which can be joined using tools/cut 'n join.
always works for me -

Install DivX Antifreeze; find a link under tools and change in TMPGEnc. under Environmental settings: VFAPI plug-ins: DirectShow Multimedia File Reader priority to 1 by right clicking it and select Higher Priority
NO CUTTING REQUIRED
