.AVI to .MPEG

WASSUPPII! Hi guys. I need some helpful pointers here. I have a movie on my HD in .AVI and also the sound file in .AC3. I am trying to convert it to .MPEG and have had success in the conversion. The thing is that when I go to watch it, it tends to start to repeat itself about 1/8th the way through it. Don't get me wrong here, it doesn't stop and repeat itself on through infinity. No. Instead, it will stop at one point, repeat itself for a few frames, (along w/ sound), then go on for a few frames, then stop again and repeat a few frames. It will do this through the rest of the movie too. I need some serious help here, but any help would do just fine. By the way, the movie is about a hacker who saves the world in the real world. Hint, hint. ( I didn't know if you needed to know which movie it was or not...) Thanks!

can someone help me in encoding avi to vcd format (mpeg)


1) i used v-dub to extract the audio as a wav then saved it
2)went in tmpenc and coverted the avi to mpeg input the wav file as audio
3) encodin went fine using tempenc --NO errors
4) then i tried to play the mpeg file in media player but only the audio worked no video (black SCREEN)

any suggestions
