I've searched on this, found lots of problems, but no soultions.

I have burned several SVCDs using Nero with menus. Somes it works, mostly it doesn't.

The burning part goes fine. The menu mpg file is put in the right place, and can be read properly on a PC.

When I put the disk in my DVD player and hit 'play', I just get a black screen, and I can do no more (ie menu, next, track select etc.)

If I hit stop, that hit a number button to search for a track, it works fine. So it is only the menu page that is playing up.

Like I said, someting, though, it works. Soame procedure, same disk type etc but the menu comes up and I can select trackes from it.

    Any suggestions?

My DVD player is a Pioneer 444, I am using non-compilant SVCD (352x288 at 2500bps). My menu contains track titles, changed header and footer and a .bmp background picture (704x576). I'm using nero version 5.5.7.2.

No one else replied, so I thought I would!

I suspect that the problem was that I am putting too much on the disk.

When I had the problem, Nero was reporting just on 80 min on it's scale, and it burned OK, but the menu won't play. I removed one of the files, so that it was below 80 minutes and now it works fine. So it could be either a problem with Nero (that it lets you try and burn too much stuff) or a problem with my DVD player (Pioneer DV 444) that It can't read stuff past the 80 minute mark.

Any suggestion?? (For now, I'm sticking with shorter SVCDs).
