I have been given a CD with 22 .cpa files. I want to convert these files to mp3 using VLC media player (preferred). I tried following the MEDIA > CONVERT/SAVE procedure and I think I did things properly, but apparently not as nothing happened. I want to convert all 22 files at once but I can't figure how to "name" the folder since each file is numbered 01...22.cpa. If I name the selected 22 files as 01.mp3, I successfully convert that single file. How do I get the rest without doing them one by one? Also how do I get the metadata onto the converted files?

you seem confused. you say .cda in your thread title and then .cpa in the thread. a cd with cda files is a music cd. use a normal cd ripper to convert to mp3. .cda files are just pointer files to the actual .wav files.
