  3. DVM is an animation format created in support of Magic Software. There are several revisions of the format: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1. Appended to the documentation on which this article was based was the following curious statement:

The DVM format was created by Magic Software and may only be modified by members of Magic Software.

  4. That's the same information I found. It doesn't match what's in the file.

  5. Oh, sorry, didn't look into the SDK since I didn't see Magic Software anywhere mentioned on the page you linked to.

Could it be a DVD DL image made with ACARD Ha! DVD Burner?

It doesn't resemble an AVI in any way. Contains none of the expected FOURCCs.

  9. might be a temporal file from an editing software,... File starts with 'DVM Movie64' so it's probably related to video data,.. (and not a damaged vm or something else)

  10. The file also has some numbers in the header that look like video, 720, 288. And there are repeating patterns in the data that look like they might be vertical refresh pulses. But I haven't been able to make any sense of if it yet.
