I am capturing to avi using mjpeg or huffyuv and trying to test various settings by encoding only 1 minute of audio/video. When I open the avi in CCE, set up the options, and hit 'encode' I get the error "Read only 0 bytes, while expecting 8 bytes" and it quits. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it means? Is there a limit to how small timewise a file can be? I have read all the documentation I can find on CCE and found no mention of this.
Thanks
Shaggy

Open your source in VirtualDub, In video and audio tab choose direct stream copy. Then save as old format avi. Load it in cce and you are there...

wow, that worked, thanks. But now I am more confused. I did make some 1 hour captures with virtualdub and encoded them in CCE with no problems. It looked like the only time I was having problems was with my small test captures. Any ideas? Is there an option in virtualdub I could have unknowingly set to old avi? And can you explain what saving as old avi is doing, or point me in a direction to find out?
Thanks again
Shaggy
