  1. I have had most of my 8mm converted to DVD via a transfer service. I have a couple 8mm tapes I just found that I didn't convert. And my Panasonic DVD Recorder just stopped working. Is there a way to hook my 8mm camera to my laptop and transfer the DVD's that way? I am thinking some kind of cable . Thanks

  2. Firewire (a.k.a. 1394). You'll need a computer that can accept this input. You can add the input on a laptop via a fairly cheap Expresscard or PC Card (use whichever one your laptop accepts). 1394 cards can be purchased for a desktop PC for about $10.

  3. I have a ACER laptop with a dvd burner. I am assuming I need some kind of cable with RCA connections on one side and the other to connect to the computer and some software to convert it? What is this Dazzel thing I am reading about? https://www.amazon.com/Dazzle-DVD-Recorder-VHS-Converter/dp/B00EAS14KI/ref=sr_1_51?ie=...ture+Device%22

  4. I thought you had a Digital8 camcorder. If instead it is a simple analog camera, then my advice about the 1394 cable is incorrect. You'll instead need to purchase an analog capture device. Search this forum for the solution. I think there is a FAQ that covers this because it is a very, very common thing to do.
