  1. I'm just started shooting a new documentary movie for my final university project and already got problems during first shootings. Basically, i received a permission for using our dormitory chimney, but there is a poor light and it makes my videos too pale. How can i alive student' faces? One of my mates recommended me to try a light ring and i dont whether it will work or not. https://www.bestadvisor.com/ring-lights i found some interesting variants and maybe you've tried one of these devices. I'll be happy if share your experiences.

  2. The first choice is creative, not technical.

Lighting rings tend to be used for a glamor, think magazine covers, and can be difficult for talent because the glare makes them effectively blind.

Don't really know your situation (you didn't come close to fully describing it), but offhand I'd say one of the 1st things would be to make full use of bounce cards. It is often the reality that it is not the overall lack of light that is the problem, but the inopportune placement of it.
