  3. Well, SubRip does claim to be able to extract hardcoded subs:

Subrip 1.4+ can also rip subs from avi with burned in/hardcoded/permanent subtitles.
How well it does it I have no idea as I don't download videos with burned in subs and then try and extract them. They'll be text-based subs and albfullsoft is asking for VOBSubs. So, that's not going to happen but if he wants them badly enough he can do the work and convert them afterwards.

  4. I use a lot subrip and i was able to rip subtitles of a 1h 30 min movie for 1h to max 2h but this was time wasting and i seen some subtiltes on a subtitle sharing website
as sub/idx subtitles and they was riped from a movie ,but in that time i thought they was ripped ,but maybe they were ripped and converted from srt to sub/idx .

  5. Movies don't start out as AVIs with burned in subs so, yes, there's probably a DVD version of it somewhere and there might be subtitles available on the subtitle sites.

I doubt anyone would OCR to SRT followed by conversion to VOBSubs (IDX/SUB) if they could have much more easily extracted the VOBSubs to begin with.

Better term would be to ocr the burned subs since ripping requires extraction which isn't possible.
