The brilliant team at Microsoft has two names for their browser. Bing and Edge. I guess one team doesn't know about the other.

    Isn't bing the search engine?

I'm not sure. So they split IE into two products?

Oh, I get it. Bing is the censorship product for developers. Can filter results for family oriented applications.

Cortana is sort of a browser, along with Edge. Bing is still a search engine.
I've blocked and turned all of them off in Windows 10.
They are all eager to send all your info to MS to help you.

What sparked up my curiosity is that I'm using a Windows Store app, PicCollage, which uses Bing as it's search engine, and it doesn't return results for searches that contain words like "fart".

But if I go to "bing.com", there are plenty of results for "fart".

    P.S. I'm pro-MS, I have a Surface Pro 4. I really want MS to make a comeback.

I'm part of the MS ecosystem. They have a pretty good family system. It sends me all the stuff does on his win10 laptop, in a weekly email. Pretty cool
I use Edge browser most of the time, as it's as fast or faster than Chrome. I don't use Cortana that much

Heck no, I don't even drink Bud any more. I'm a 4Loko man now. And I like those 5 liter wine boxes too.

I'm a Linux user at home, and a Windows 7 user at work.

I'll with with 7 until forced to update. What I've seen of Windows 10 hasn't convinced me I need to upgrade.

Windows 8 was a real mess, but 10 clearly separates the Apps from the Applications.

I think the main reason to upgrade is the security. Win10 should be much more secure. Don't forget, you still want to do banking over IP.

Also, as I get into my golden years I kind of like the simplicity of using a simple App to make fun "postcards" to send around to friends and family, instead of busting out with a big program.

As our Fams migrate more and more, you have to become "Mobile Grandpa" to stay connected. They don't care for the standard old fart style any more. Hahaha. Neither do I, although I'm semi-retired. Making cute visuals on a larger screened laptop has its advantages. My eyeballs get burned out using a phone to do everything.

I use OneDrive to create a bridge between devices, and it works pretty well. I have an Asus laptop, Surface Pro tablet, and Nexus 6, and they all share together.

You have to fool with it for a few weeks, but eventually it will come as second nature, just like the beloved Windows 7.

Yeah, it's really dorky. But I do like the "Hello Google" thingy. Good for when you're driving, to get navigation going right away.

Another reason to upgrade to Win10 is to go ahead and get started using/getting used to, your touchscreen/Pen options. The cutting edge pen tools are coming out as Apps.

You like to annotate/draw on PDF files? Win10 has the apps for that.

As far as Cloud storage, I doubt there's any better service than OneDrive. OneDrive is the means by which MS can penetrate multiple OS's. OneDrive is Microsoft's strongest tool to get integrated everywhere, and it works flawlessly. Not like Apple Cloud, that the user can't even see a directory view of their own files.

Win10, as opposed to Win 7, can take advantage of OneDrive's advanced features.

I don't plan to switch my main PC to Windows 10 (Pro) until I build a new one because I'll need to buy a new license for it. My current PC will be my "new" HTPC running the Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center license that I already have. The laptop will also continue running Windows 8.1. Support for Windows 8.1 is not scheduled to end until 2023. The laptop and HTPC could both be dead by then.

I don't have a pen or a touchscreen, so no need there.

Only seldom, but when I do I simply use Acrobat.

How would you say it compares to Dropbox, which is what I currently use?

I used DropBox myself, for a while. I have no complaints.

Thing is, Microsoft has a lot to lose if their cloud service hiccups. That means they are probably extra careful not to commit a faux paux.
