Hey guys. So I finally decided to forget about capping to mpeg after discovering the eloquence that is AVI_IO. It had a timer record feature and MJpeg made file sizes quite managable. What more could one ask for? Well, higher resolution for one. 320x240 is not too pretty. So i decided to up the ante. I downloaded the btwincap driver which allows for capturing in higher resolutions.
Here's where I ran into problems:
Btwincap basically takes the place of my WinTV drivers. I got an error saying it couldn't be automatically installed, so I had to manually go to my Wintv drivers, and update them by pointing the the location of the .inf. Upon reboot, the WinTV reset utility nags me w/ an error. I close that and open up AVI_IO. I get a picture in preview mode, but no sound!
Yes, folks. I've tried eveything, audio is set to be recorded, my line in isn't muted in my sound controls, nothing. I even get the same lack of sound in Virtual dub. I would hate to wipe the drivers and revert to the limited Wintv drivers. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for listening to all this.
Take care.
