can't see first line of srt file

It doesn't happen with every viewer but it does with kmplayer and mpc.
Is there a way to handle it except adding a first empty line?

solution:
kmplayer -> options -> preferences -> subtitle processing
in font rendering method radio button should be on rasterizer output
works like hell!
