  1. I'm getting a problem with srt files. When AVStoDVD encounters them it throws up a panel beginning with 'Command line options are' followed by a list of keyboard shortcuts that I don't understand at all.

I never used to have a problem with this but it has started ever since I've been loading the srt's into Subtitle Edit for Spell Checking and I've also used Tools/Fix Common Error to fix things like unwanted spaces, etc. After this I save the changes I've made and that becomes the srt file I load into AVStoDVD for encoding with an avi file.

I've also tried spell checking my srt's with Subtitle Creator but after I've saved the changes AVStoDVD throws up the same problem. Everything works fine up until the moment AVS encounters the srt file wherupon it aborts the process.

I read on here about converting the srt to ANSI and I've done that (by opening the file and clicking Save As) but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

  3. OK, here's one of them. I can'ts ee anything wrong with it but then I'm pretty much a newbie at this.

  4. Add CR+LF chars (i.e. press ENTER) to the last line of the SRT file. Save it. Re-run the AVStoDVD project.

Yes, when I loaded it in Subtitle Workshop it added a final linebreak when I saved it. It's fairly good at fixing subtitles.

Also, it reports that many of the subs are too long in duration -- 6 or 7 seconds for two or three words. Not a fatal error, but odd.

Thank you very much Mr C and Alan HK!

After adding a couple of return breaks after the last line I loaded it up into AVStoDVD and it seems to be working fine.

    Thanks again.
