  1. It seems that using L-SMASH is like pulling teeth. I have:

    1. A W7 x64 Pro system
    2. Both Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 and 2015 Redistributables (x86 and x64) installed
    3. Copied the LSMASHSource.dll (32-bit) latest version (r875 because r859 wasn't working) into the C:\Program Files (x86)\AviSynth\plugins\ folder
    4. Included LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files (x86)\AviSynth\plugins\LSMASHSource.dll") in my Avisynth script

And yet I always get the following error where Line 1 is the LoadPlugin() above. Does anyone have any insights what could be the problem? Thanks as always!

I pretty much have the exact same problem but with DGIndex, ever since the last MeGUI update. LSMASH is still good. I'm also on W7 64-bit.

Are you using the DGDecode.dll that goes along with whatever DGIndex version you're using? When one is changed the other should be as well.

  4. Try the statically compiled version (the one at the very bottom):

I'm also having these problems since a few versions and have seen others reporting them as well.

  5. If that doesn't work, I'm still using r785.

    old versions here

Sometimes weird plugins can cause problems preventing the loading of another .dll, so if that still doesn't work, try cleaning out the autoloading plugins folder

"flaky" would imply to me it "sort of" works. But you can't even get it to load. The recent ffms2 builds are what I would call "flaky" - in that they work "sort of" but give very bizarre and inconsistent results . ffms2 is a lot more "flaky" than lsmash IMO

  6. I'm also using r785, as it's the latest that'll run on XP. It's been fine. If you want to try it there's a link for "LSMASHSource for Windows XP" at the bottom of this page. http://avisynth.nl/index.php/LSMASHSource

I don't think it's on the page poisondeathray linked to as it's a different build.

Thanks pdr for the insight. I haven't tried to troubleshoot this any further because I decided to simply to do a fresh rebuild of my machine. I am trying to hard to clean my machine of ANY and ALL unwanted crap. Not easy because even mobo drivers conflict with things like my audio interface. I will post back soon once my machine is back up and running. I have to run some tests first though.

Thanks so much, sneaker! Installing L-SMASH is like herding a bunch of long tailed cats in a room full of swaying rocking chairs. Use this, that, ugh! Well, after:

    1. Downloading and installing the MSVCR link that came with the latest version (apparently there are many different versions and this can cause problems)
    2. Downloading the static version (whatever that is for, I don't know, didn't need to last time, arrgh!!!)

It finally worked. Just posting back the solution here so I don't hurl my computer across the room the next time I experience this problem.

    Thanks again!
