Hello everyone!
I've been trying to hardcode some subs in a video, and got to this forum with VidCoder. The software is great and all, but I cant change the color of the subs.
Any idea how to do this?

Use Subtitle Edit to change the color in your subtitle, see https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/376846-A-software-to-hardcode-subs-with-font-option...=1#post2431833
Or you can try xmedia recode, not as easy vidcoder but you can change the colors: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/373379-How-to-burn-in-hardcode-srt-with-Xmedia-RecodeLast edited by Baldrick; 8th Feb 2016 at 11:23. Reason: updated with subtitle edit

And make the ass subtitles with colors using Subtitle Edit. Then add/mux the .ass subtitle and your video file using mkvtoolnixgui. Load then your new mkv file in VidCoder (or handbrake) and burn in and hope you get some colors...

Or open the srt in Subtitle Edit. Mark all (Ctrl+A). Rigth click. Select Color (And they are honored in Vidcoder
)

One more thing! It's possible to add a background color (black) to the text? So it can pop up from the context (a black and white video)

Then I guess you have to make ass subtitles as videobruger suggested first.
In subtitle edit, open srt, under Format choose: Advanced Sub Station Alpha, select all(CTRL-A) lines, right click and choose Advanced Sub Station Alpha styles. Select the Opaque box under Border. Save as new .ass.
Last get Mkvtoolnixgui, add your video file, add the .ass, start muxing a new mkv. Open the mkv in VidCoder. Click on Subtitles Edit and it should list the subtitle directly. Click burn In.
