Hi, I have downloaded a movie in mp4 format and it resides on my HD and plays correctly from here. I copied it onto a friend's brand new 32GB USB stick and it will not play from the stick (either on my computer or on my Smart TV). Other mp4 videos play from this stick both on the computer and on the Smart TV. I then copied it onto another 32GB stick and it plays from there without a problem. Both sticks are formatted in FAT32. Both sticks are the same brand, just different models. Can someone give me an idea how to resolve this? Why would some play and others not?

Both are USB3 or perhaps only new one (not working one)?

The one I am having issues with is a Lexar® JumpDrive® V10 USB flash drive and I know it is USB 2.0 since it was still in the package when I got it from my friend. The other one is a Lexar™ 32GB TwistTurn USB Flash Drive - I do not know if it is USB 2.0 or 3.0, but I think it is 2.0

Is the stick FULL?.....Did all of the files fit?
FAT32?....I thought FAT32 had a maximum file size of 1GB?
Just throwing it out there....I've been wrong before.

Yes it fit... with at least half the storage left if not more... and yes it is FAT32. Both sticks are.

    FAT32 has a 4GB limit.

I have had odd things happen if I did not eject the USB stick before unplugging from the PC.

Not at all sure why this has solved the problem. I re-downloaded the video and it works just fine now. The original download worked on the other stick, but not this new one... Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
