  2. I havent used Whitelabel DVD-Rs but I did buy a pile of WhiteLabel DVD-RWs and everyone so far (about 7) has failed within the first couple of minutes both on writing or erasing.

needless to say, if there isnt a good technical reason for them not working, then I wont be buying them next time

  3. Since changing the drive to PIO only I had no problems with these discs. But the sound isn't right on the recorded discs. Will try these on a another drive when I get around to hooking it up.

  4. The white labeled discs that I use are manufactured by Princo. I have burned over 200 DVD-R's and use the DVD-RW's extensively with no problems. I have:
    2 Pioneer A03's.
    1 Pioneer DVR-7000 (Stand alone).
    1 Pioneer DV-444 Player.
The movies that I have burned have been played on several different brand players with no problem. If I have a Video Tape over 2 hours, I first record it to DVD-RW using my DVR-7000 and then record from that to the computer using VirtualDub with minimal to no frame loss. I pick my Princo DVD-R's up off eBay for a little over $1.00 per. I had more problems with the Pioneer DVD-RW's that came with my burners.
When I read that people were having trouble with Princo discs playing on some players I sent a couple of my burns out to people with different machines with no problems.
I am stumped as to why other people are having trouble unless maybe there are other brands with white labels that are being passed off.

Not white labeled discs but White Label. They have White Label written on them.

  6. I bought 50 White Label DVD-Rs in bulk. They are Gen 4 Gold Edition. I've burnt a few of them and haven't had any problems yet.

What are other people's experiences with these discs? Any problems? I am thinking of purchasing some more of these cos I will be burning a lot more. Or are there better discs out there which I am unaware of?

I read that the Apple DVDs are the best for quality and price. Where can I get them cheaply from the UK? Anyone purchased them and where from?

  7. Thought I'd just update this thread.

    1) I have burned 10 DVDs now but 2 of them had errors on it. On one of the DVD, the error is noticed when I try to seek past a certain point in the movie. the movie plays fine all the way through if left untouched. I can seek to any point within the first three-quarters of the movie, but when I click on the seek bar to go near the end of the movie, the movie freezes and PowerDVD give an error message and then closes itself.

    2) On the other DVD, I can't play one of the VOB files. I can play the rest, but one of them has become corrupted and unreadable.

    3) One other problem I came across was that my friend cannot play the DVDs I burnt on his own computer. Thats not right is it? He should be able to play the DVDs on his DVD-ROM since he can play all other ones that he hires from the video shop.

Does anyone else have such problems? Is there a solution?
